WPS product offering evolves to focus on growth

MADISON, Wis.—Aug. 10, 2023—Wisconsin Physicians Service Insurance Corporation (WPS Health Insurance) is streamlining its product offering to simplify its business and make it easier for customers to select coverage. Due to changes in the health insurance market, its wholly owned subsidiary, WPS Health Plan, Inc. (WPS Health Plan), will no longer offer or renew:

  • Individual health policies beginning on Jan. 1, 2024
  • Small group plans effective Jan. 1, 2024
  • Administrative services and large group coverage effective July 1, 2024

WPS Health Insurance will continue to offer its small/large group health plan offerings in 2024 and beyond. Its popular Medicare supplement insurance plans and its growing administrative services business for self-funded plans are not affected. Other WPS Health Insurance products, such as short-term and individual health plans, are also unchanged. This planned realignment will allow WPS to continue to focus on delivering the best possible service to customers.

“This change will help us drive growth,” Jeremy Ott, Vice President of Health Insurance Economics, said. “It also simplifies our product offering, so customers will have an easier shopping experience.”

WPS Health Plan and WPS Health Insurance are served by the same personnel internally. This means customers who switch to a new WPS Health Insurance plan can expect the same quality they have come to expect for customer service, claims administration, and other services currently received from WPS Health Plan.
